One Year Check-up

We had our 12 month check-up yesterday. Everything is going great. The boys did have to get shots, but they only cried for just a few seconds and then they were fine. They actually did better than I did.

Anyway, here are the stats:

Hayden - 21 pounds, 8 ounces, 29.5 inches long
Carson - 19 pounds, 12 ounces, 29.25 inches long

We are not confident that the length measurements are correct because the paper was all messed up at the doctor's office and the boys were both squirmy. We think that Hayden is a little more than a quarter of an inch taller than Carson, but I guess it really doesn't matter :).

For those of you who don't know, both boys are walking now. In fact, Carson looks like he is trying to run (oh no!). They are jabbering all of the time and love to act like they are talking on the phone. They have also gotten very cuddly - with stuffed animals or soft blankets. They love to lay their head on anything soft - it is so cute. I have stopped worrying AS much about food, so they are starting to really eat off the table now. They still probably don't get what a lot of babies their age get, but I think we are doing just fine.

I think that is about it. Until next time...

As promised, here are some pictures from the boys' birthday party last Saturday. Enjoy!

Hmmm...do we want to go play with our friends???

Of course we do!!

Here are the cakes. They boys got real cakes and everyone else got cupcakes.

After everyone had their cake and ice cream (except for the boys), we opened presents. They were very interested in the boxes. They got alot of really neat toys.

Granny P got us some cool hats...

After we opened presents, it was time for the cake. We're waiting...

Mmm...that tastes good.

Of course, we got pretty messy, so we had to get a bath in the kitchen.

Well, that is all. Thank you to everyone who came to our party! We had a great time!

Happy Birthday Hayden & Carson!!!

Well, I can't believe it, but it is here - the boys' 1st birthday! This past year has been so wonderful with all of the new things I have learned and experienced. I am SO thankful for my two little boys. They are the best!

One thing I have learned over the past month is the fact that posing for pictures is apparently no longer that fun - especially when I want them to pose at the same time. But of course I am going to try anyway. Here are a couple of pictures I got today. I will post pictures of their party soon.

Here is one more picture. I took it on Saturday after the birthday party. Phillip had taken Charlie outside and the boys watched him out the window. I think this is probably the cutest picture I've taken of the boys...

Working With Mommy

As many of you know, I am fortunate enough to get to work from home a couple of days per week. Up until the last few weeks, I have never really worked while I was at home by myself with the boys - except for naptimes. Instead, I worked at night when the boys went to sleep. Well, that has gotten old really quickly, so I decided to try something new. We have a SuperYard that we keep in the living room. It is a gate-type thing that keeps the boys in one area (except they can escape sometimes :)). Anyway, I have figured out how to put the gate in my office, and use Charlie's gate down the hall, to create a good play area for the boys while I work. So far it has worked pretty good. It is so much fun taking the boys to work with me, although I do have to stop every now and then to break up a fight :). Here are some pictures.

Here is the room setup...

Carson comes over to say "hi!"

Water Fun!

For the boys' birthday, we got a "baby sprinkles" water toy. We couldn't wait for them to get to use it, so we got it out today (only a little early :)). I don't think they liked it at first. It hooks up to the water hose, which is cold. After a little bit, Carson really seemed to enjoy it - although he was still cold. Hayden was okay as long as he was standing up, and they both wanted to be close to either me or Phillip. I hope we'll have some really fun times this summer with it. Here are some pictures...

11 Months

I am a little (more like a lot) late with the 11 month post. Things are so busy these days that time flies by without me realizing it. Anyway, better late than never, right?

The boys are doing all kinds of things now - and are getting into everything! Hayden started out taking a few steps during the last month or so without any help, but gets so excited that he falls down pretty quickly. Carson didn't really try it until the last week or so. Unlike Hayden, he is really steady and walks across the living room pretty regularly now. He is still wobbly and falls, but does really well overall. Now Hayden is trying to walk a little more (monkey see, monkey do). :)

There is ALOT of jabbering going on now. No real distinguishable words yet, except dada and mama (which I'm still not sure they are really meaning to say that). Although when they pick up a phone (or something that can act as a phone), it sounds like they say "hi." Their little noises are so cute! I love to listen to them jabber.

This past week, we have started having "big boy suppers." I have finally gotten confident enough to feed them what I am eating - or some variation. We have had small pieces of hamburger meat, chicken, lots of peas and carrots, green beans, and bread. It is really nice to be able to let them feed themselves, although a bit messy, because I can take some breaks and eat too. They have gotten to where they would much prefer to feed themselves.

Well, I think that is everything new for now. Our birthday party will be on June 16, so I am sure I'll be posting a lot of pictures shortly after that. Until then here are some new pictures. We tried to get them to be still and let us take some shots, but they weren't cooperating. So, here is what we got...
