Our Little Miracles

This blog is about our two little miracles, Hayden & Carson. They were born on June 19, 2006, at 1:49 and 1:51 AM. Hayden weighed in at 6 pounds and 2 ounces, while Carson weighed in at 4 pounds, 13 ounces. Keep checking back to watch us grow!

Shy Dancing Baby

Last week Hayden was standing on the couch dancing (being supervised closely). When I got the camera out, he ran and hid his face. I have never seen him be shy like that before, so I thought I would start recording in case something cute happened. Here is what we got. You will notice that, again, they have no clothes on. What I thought was especially cute is Carson in the background in his diaper and shoes working hard on the laundry.

The Roughhousing Has Begun

I was in the kitchen one day last week and heard Hayden laughing hysterically. I went to see what was going on, and his bubby was sitting on top of him and apparently jumping on him. I didn't quite realize the jumping part until I had already started recording, but Hayden didn't seem to mind at all. I did make Carson stop though, because I didn't want him to hurt his brother (the jumping seemed to become a little harder). But this made me realize that this is only the beginning of a life of play between brothers.

Also, you will notice that Hayden's shirt is not completely on. He really likes to take his shirt off -or try at least. As I stated in an earlier post, they like to be naked.

The Holidays All Rolled Into One Post

In an attempt to get caught up, I am going to post pics from all of the holidays in this one post. Hopefully it won't be too much at once.

First there was Thanksgiving. We went to Gran & Pops's house to eat Thanksgiving lunch. We wore our special camo shirts for Pops (we knew he would like them). We had so much fun running around and playing - especially in the windows. They also liked playing in a little rocking chair that Gran got from Granny P.

Then, it was Christmas. We had such a big time this year. We started off at Goodmommy & Gooddaddy's house. There, we got to play with all of our cousins and open presents - it was so much fun. Here are some pictures.

When we left Goodmommy & Gooddaddy's house, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Jones's house. There, we got to play with our cousins Emma and Cailin. We also got some cool cars there. Here we are riding them.

We were so tired that night that we didn't have any trouble going to sleep. The next morning, we woke up and Santa had visited our house. He brought us some really cool things. We got a tent, drums, a couple of books, and some other little toys. We were so excited.

Here are the boys opening their tent...

Here is the tent after we put it up, and then Hayden in the tunnel. I so hoped the boys would like it, but I didn't realize how much they would. I had figured we would leave it up for a little while and then it would get old. Nope, they are still playing in it, so it is still in our living room.

To add to all the excitement, the boys got to eat in the kitchen floor (we moved our table so we could sit by the tree and open presents). They thought this was so cool.

After all of the excitement at home, we went back to Gran & Pops's house to eat a late breakfast. We had a good time playing with the train and opening presents. Granny P got to come too.

Christmas just seemed to keep going. One of the gifts from Gran & Pops hadn't come in for Christmas, but it got here the next day. It is SO much fun and seems to satisfy our climbing needs (for the most part). Again, this is a present that stays out because they play on it every day!

Well, I think that is all. I will TRY to be better about posting from now on, but I can't promise anything. Spare moments are hard to find these days! But we are enjoying every minute of it!

18 Month Check - Up

The boys had their 18 month check up on December 19th - the day they were 18 months. I don't know why, but I like to do it as close to the day as possible - maybe I'm a little OCD :). Anyway, they were both very healthy and growing like crazy. I feel bad because I don't remember the exact weights and heights (they even gave me stickers so I could remember!), but they were like 26 & 24 pounds (Hayden & Carson, respectively), and then I'm not quite sure on the height except that Hayden was still about 3/4 inch taller than Carson. I really thought (and everyone told me in the hospital when we had them) that Carson would catch up to Hayden pretty quickly, but he has been consistently 1 and 1/2 to 2 pounds lighter than Hayden since birth. There is definitely a difference in holding them!

They are getting into everything and jabbering like crazy. They are both saying "Momma" and "Dada" very plainly now - instead of "ma" and "da." They also like to climb. Because of that, they got a Kangaroo Climber for Christmas that they LOVE! I'll post pictures of that when I get the Christmas post (I know, I am way behind but I am trying to catch up). Hayden is very good to help you pick up stuff (like toys, sometimes), but Carson needs some coaxing. Tantrums are here, especially when they are tired or hungry. But, we just deal with them and move on.

Now for some pictures.

The boys still love their baths. Hayden has figured out that he can lay down in the bathtub. I think he likes the way it sounds. Carson has since tried it and likes it too. I just thought the second picture was funny, so I had to share it.

Both boys have learned to hide. Carson does it mainly to be funny. Hayden does it when he knows he's about to have to do something he doesn't want to (e.g., change his diaper, go to bed). They are pretty clever little guys. The first picture is of Carson hiding behind a mirror. The second is of Hayden most likely on his way down the hall to hide before bed.

The boys also like to run around without their clothes on, especially after their bath. I'm not sure what the fascination is, but I guess they just like being free. Here are my naked babies.

First Year Book

As many of you know, I like to create photobooks using Shutterfly. Well, it took me a while, but I finally finished the boys' "First Year" Book. Here is the link to the book. It is AMAZING how much they change in 1 year!
