VIDEO!!

I have wanted to post a video for SO long, but never knew how. Now, I see a "video" button when I create a post, so I am excited. The only thing I have to do is shoot the videos. I haven't been able to hook our camcorder up to the computer yet (mainly lack of time to figure it out), but our digital camera shoots video, so that is what I did. I suspect that is why the video is shaky (sorry if you get sick easily), but it could also be that I don't do it very often. Either way, we have video!

This is from this afternoon - the boys were playing so well. They have gotten to where they like to get in their toy containers (especially Hayden), so I thought I would get a shot of that. Then Carson started running around and I know he likes to dance, so I tried to get him to dance. He wasn't really in the mood at the time (a rarity), but I looked back and Hayden was dancing pretty good, so I got him dancing. Then I was back and forth waiting for someone to do something (hence the drunkenness you may feel :)). I hope you enjoy! (oh yeah, please pardon the mess!)

Happy Birthday Granny P!

Our Granny P's birthday was last week. We went to a party for her on Sunday. We got to see alot of family and the boys had so much fun! We love you Granny P!!

Here is Granny P and Gracie - who we got to meet for the first time. Gracie really seemed to like the boys!

Here are the boys with Gran and Uncle Charles.

Here is Carson with me, Gran, Auntie Adele, Cousin Marissa, and Cousin Gracie (she was hiding in Marissa's lap). Hayden was too busy playing :).

15 Month Check-up

Hello everyone! The boys had their 15 month check-up on Thursday. It was a totally different experience than the last time we were there. While they were walking at their 12 month visit, they were not walking quite as well as they are now. However, they were very good boys while they waited in the waiting room and then while waiting for the doctor (who was about an hour behind because of a dentist appointment). Luckily, we brought some toys and snacks.

Now for some stats: Hayden now weighs 23 pounds and 8 ounces & is 32 inches tall. Carson weighs 21 pounds and 12 ounces & is also 32 inches tall (according to the nurse, but we think he is still a little shorter than Hayden). The doctor says they are long and lean and look healthy. That is always nice to hear! They weren't too crazy about being examined, especially Carson. He acted like they were hurting him pretty much every time they touched him. So, you probably know the shots were awful! However, Hayden didn't cry at all with his shots. It is so weird how they switch - one time Hayden will do fine and the next time Carson will do fine. I guess it just depends on their moods that day.

Some things the boys are doing now are walking/running, trying to climb, and saying a few words (not always understandable :)) like Ball, Bath, This, That, and of course DaDa. They can say MaMa, but they haven't in a while - I am starting to think they have forgotten my name :). They also love to have a fork or spoon in their hands when they eat, but they don't quite have the coordination yet to use them very effectively. They do try though.

I don't have many new pics, but here is some of what I have.

Carson didn't feel well at all after his shots on Thursday. He laid in the floor on a pallet with Phillip and went to sleep. Isn't he so sweet?

Hayden also enjoys the pallet...

Pretty much every morning the boys want me to open the front door so they can look out. They love to look out the door and to go outside every chance they get. As you can see, they also like to wear backpacks. Hayden looks like is headed off for school (it's way too soon for that!)

Various Thoughts and More Pictures

I recently read a magazine article by a lady who had twins. She said that when her babies were infants, she thought that if she could just get through the sleep deprivation, keeping up with who ate when, and all of the other responsibilities of caring for newborn twins she would have it made. Well, she was mistaken. It was when her babies began to move around and get into things, and all that goes along with that, that it became more difficult. I will have to agree!

I, too, thought that it would get easier once the boys were moving around and could go where they needed to by themselves. While that is nice, it is also more difficult to keep up with who is where and what they are getting in to. I am SO thankful for our Superyard gate! It allows them the freedom to roam the living room and the hall, but not get into the kitchen where they could get into more trouble. And, as long as I can keep the doors closed, they don't have much they can get into. But somehow, they find things that I never even knew where there. They are so curious.

Please don't think that I am complaining about my life as a mom of twins because I definitely am not doing that. I wouldn't change one thing about my life - my boys are the greatest and I love being their Mommy. I just wanted to share that I recently came to the realization that parenting toddlers is hard work (although most of you already knew that). Since I have realized this, things have become easier for me because I have a different mindset of how things will go. I always say that I can deal with anything as long as I know what I am getting in to, and I really think that is true.

Okay, that is enough of me talking, I know that you are ready to see more pictures of the boys :). Here are some random pictures I've taken over the past month.

Ba! Ba! Ba!

The boys LOVE bathtime! I usually give them something messy for supper (like spaghetti), and afterwards I ask, "do you want a bath?" They look at me and start going "ba! ba! ba!" and try to get out of their chairs. I will take them out and tell them to go take a bath and they head straight for the bathroom door and beat on it until I get there. In the mean time, they are pulling at their clothes trying to get them off. When they are in the tub, they love to play with the water as it is coming out. When that is over, they play with their toys, or experiment with putting their faces in the water. It all ends with them dancing and me asking if they want out and them shaking their heads no. It is so funny to watch. Here are some more Ba! pictures. You can see Carson trying to drink the water in the first picture.
